Challenge
Canadian Sub-Surface is an oil field services company. The field staff perform jobs for a large number of clients in locations where Internet access is limited or not practical. They needed a way to eliminate the paper process from the field ticket generated on location, all the way to invoicing.
Solution
Claero Systems developed an online field ticket system (called DIGIT) that manages the work flow of the field ticket process and provides detailed reporting and PDF ticket generation.
A cross-platform offline application was also created that is used on the field laptops and truck computers. It allows field staff to synchronize with the online application to download the latest pricelist and customer information and upload their tickets once completed.
Results
The system is currently being launched company-wide, and the pilot project in one district was very successful. More precise measurement of benefits should be available later in 2005.
