Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta (JASA) strives to inspire and educate young Canadians to value free enterprise, understand business and economics and develop entrepreneurial and leadership skills. JASA delivers programs to 30,000 young people annually with the cooperation and support of business volunteers, corporate sponsors, and educators.

The Investment Strategies Program (ISP) is a new on-line learning opportunity for junior high students. This learning activity incorporates resource materials including pre-simulation activities that enhance the Alberta Learning curriculum; a philanthropy module, encouraging students to look beyond the profit line; and customized training for participating volunteers and teachers.

Craig Nakamoto of Claero Systems was a volunteer of the pilot project of the Investment Strategies Program. During that pilot an American company was contracted to manage the online stock market simulation. This company has been in business for over 12 years and considered one of the leaders in the stock market simulation industry. We had countless problems with their service and were at a loss as to what to do until Craig shared what his company could offer JASA. Claero Systems was contracted to develop the stock simulation web site found at www.investja.org.

This partnership with Claero Systems to development the online stock market simulation was a very wise decision on our part! As this was a new venture for Claero Systems, they did a great deal of research into the development of the site. They took all the feedback from all the volunteers, students and teachers and created something identical to the 'wish list' of the participants from the pilot group. Claero Systems stayed within the budget and time commitments and offered constant feedback during the development phase. The site looks wonderful and the early feedback has been extremely positive.

Not only did Claero work out all the issues we had with the American game but also managed to offer the service at a lower cost, which is a very important issue, especially for a not-for-profit organization. Also, the support that Claero Systems continues to offer in the development and maintenance of this project is beyond the call of duty!
